The Project has the aim to realize, at the Centre Research ENEA of Portici (NA), an important Computing Polo multipurpose to study complex systems by nature biologic e technologic, connected to facilities in computing, file storing and 3D data rendering , located at the Centres ENEA in Brindisi and Trisaia (MT).

On the applications and science contents view, the project focuses on the following activity lines:

LA1. Computing centre GRID computing: the implementation of innovative solutions in topic of computing system architectures and GRID computing for the activities of advanced R&S in ENEA, requiring the use of computational resources highly performing.

On the infrastructure topic the Project schedule is to realize an absolutely preeminent computing platform capable to perform a computing power in the order of Teraflop, completed by a new class of GRID innovative tools;

LA2. Systems and New materials: the study of biologic objects in "sistemic" point of view (in silico cell) and the study of natural systems (animal e social communities) according to paradigm of complex systems;

LA3. Technological networks: the study of technological complex systems and their mutual interactions and the creation of suitable tools for the modeling, simulating and control processes.
