| FARO NX Warning about OS/browser support | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

The FARO web access is provided through NX Web Companion, a small Java applet that runs in your browser, downloads NX client for your platform, and launches it. The NX client is installed in the .nx directory in the HOME of your workstation.
If you want to download a fresh copy of the NX client it is sufficient to delete the .nx directory and reload the page.

On Linux systems if the message "NX Web Companion has been aborted" appears then it may be that a shared library is missing. To identify it, try to launch directly the Web Companion client executable ~/.nx/plugin/Linux/bin/nxclient and see the messages. ---Please note that now the only browser among the most used that support java applets is Internet Explorer with Windows Operation System. In Windows 10 you can found Internet Explorer in Start-Windows Accessories. Moreover, the NX client provided is not supported by Mac OSX 10.6+ platform. ---If your java applet complains about security, please add http://www.eneagrid.enea.it, http://www.cresco.enea.it and http://www.afs.enea.it as exception sites to your java control panel, under security tab, and then reload the applet. ---As an alternative you can download and install a NX client (even for Mac OSX 10.6+) and then click on a pre-configured session file, please go to Faro 2.0 download (Portici) or to Faro 2.0 download (Frascati) for further information. ---Network access required for FARO operations
